Safety and reporting

If something on Friend in the Cloud is harmful, abusive or illegal, tell us and a person will look at it.

Reporting from inside the app

Posts and tribes carry a Report control where they appear — on a post it sits with the post’s own actions, and on a tribe it is at the end of the About section. Use it if you can: it tells us exactly which thing you mean, so nobody has to go looking for it.

Reporting by email

You do not need an account, and you do not need to be the person affected. Write to:

safety@friendinthecloud.com

It helps if you include a link to what you are reporting and one line on what is wrong with it. Send it from whichever address suits you — you are not required to identify yourself to us beyond the address you write from.

What happens next

Your report goes into a queue that a person reviews, and it stays there until it is closed with a reason. We do not tell the person you reported who reported them. We cannot promise how quickly we will get to it, so we are not going to pretend otherwise.

If someone is in immediate danger

Contact your local emergency services first. We are a small team and we are not an emergency service — tell us as well, but tell them first.

For anything that is not a safety matter, use Contact.

Friend in the Cloud is built with love and a lot of late nights. Free accounts cost us real money to run — if you can, please pay it forward. And if FITC has helped you in any way, a coffee goes a long way towards keeping the lights on and the features coming.
