The story behind Friend in the Cloud

✨ Founder Story

Paolo Tiberi was not supposed to build a company like this.

He was supposed to follow a more ordinary path. But life had other plans.

Born in Rome, Paolo was raised by his mother Gabriella, a long-haul flight attendant. When she became pregnant, his father left. From the very beginning, life was unstable — Paolo was often moved between babysitters, relatives, and different homes, sometimes spending months away from his mother entirely.

Paolo Tiberi

There was no consistent presence. No emotional anchor. As a child, he struggled to connect with others. While other children formed friendships, Paolo turned inward — into books, television, and long periods of solitude.

By the age of seven, he had already tried to run away — and attempted to take his own life. Not from weakness. But from disconnection.

🔍 The Search for Meaning

Instead of closing down, Paolo began searching. Not casually — but intensely. He asked for books instead of gifts. Courses instead of toys. Experiences instead of comfort.

At just 15, he had already begun studying energy work, becoming a Reiki practitioner, and later learning from teachers such as Barbara Ann Brennan (author of Hands of Light).

Spiritual traditions studied
  • • Buddhism & Advaita Vedanta
  • • Hermetic traditions
  • • Shamanism (Belo Horizonte & Apache)
  • • Essene teachings & early Christian mysticism
Sciences explored
  • • Quantum physics
  • • Neurology
  • • Epigenetics
  • • Psychology & human behaviour

A Turning Point

At 17, a motorbike accident led to a near-death experience. It did not create fear. It created clarity. Life was not random. And it was not meant to be lived unconsciously.

From that moment, Paolo intensified his search — not just for knowledge, but for truth. By 17, he had already begun hosting small evening talks in Ostia, Rome — sharing what he had learned. He was connecting patterns: science and spirituality, mind and body, logic and intuition.

🌏 The Real World — and Repeated Failure

In his early 20s, Paolo moved to Australia after falling in love. To survive, he worked any job he could — pizza maker, dishwasher, waiter, hotel staff (Accor Group: Novotel, Sofitel). Later, he became a flight attendant for over a decade.

At the same time, he tried to build businesses. One of his earliest ventures — a dating platform — was ahead of its time. He invested over $25,000 and years of effort. It failed. Many others followed. And failed.

💸 The Breaking Point

Determined to succeed, Paolo turned to trading. Without mastering himself first, the result was brutal: $107,000 lost, 7 credit cards maxed out, constant financial pressure.

But instead of walking away, he adapted. He learned discipline, risk management, and emotional control. Eventually, through persistence and strategy, he rebuilt — turning financial hardship into stability, and later into significant growth through crypto investing.

💔 The Moment That Defined the Mission

Then came the moment that changed everything. A close friend and colleague took his own life.

It was not abstract. It was real. And it hit deeply — because Paolo understood that feeling. The silence. The isolation. The absence of someone who truly listens.

"What if no one ever had to feel alone like that again?"

The Breakthrough: AI Meets Purpose

In 2026, everything aligned. Artificial intelligence had reached a point where one person — with vision — could build what once required an entire team.

Using his coding knowledge, design experience, decades of study in human behaviour, and AI as a collaborator — Paolo created Friend in the Cloud. This is not just technology. It is the result of a childhood of disconnection, a lifelong search for meaning, failures that taught resilience, and a moment that made the mission undeniable.

"
I did not build this because it was a good idea.
I built it because, at one point in my life... I needed it.
