Where your video actually lives

FITC doesn’t host your video. You paste a link and it plays from wherever you already keep it. The studio shows which video services are accepted, and that list can change.

That has three consequences worth knowing:

• If you delete it there, it disappears here. FITC never holds a copy of your video file.FITC does keep what you type — the title, description and categories — along with the address of your cover image, how many times your video has been watched on FITC, and its likes. It also keeps a record of your rights confirmation.
• Your cover comes from your host’s thumbnail. Set a custom thumbnail where the video lives and it appears here automatically.
• Your host’s rules apply too. A video that breaks its host’s rules can vanish from Insights without anyone at FITC doing anything.

Your video also has to be watchable by other people — public or unlisted, not private. Private videos can’t be played anywhere but your own account. Age-restricted videos usually won’t play outside the site that hosts them — viewers get sent back there instead. If your video carries an age restriction, expect it not to work here.

Only post video you have the right to post

This is the rule we enforce most firmly. Before you publish, you confirm that you own the video or have permission to share it.

That means not posting:

• someone else’s video, in whole or in part, without their permission
• music you don’t have the rights to use, including background music
• clips from films, television, sport or live events
• other people filmed or recorded without their agreement
• anything you bought a licence for that doesn’t allow sharing it publicly

If you’re not sure whether you have the right to post something, you don’t. Make something of your own instead — it will do more for you anyway.

What isn’t allowed

• Anything involving a child unsafely. No sexual, suggestive or exploitative content involving anyone under 18, ever, in any form.
• Sexual content, nudity, or anything designed to titillate.
• Violence, gore, cruelty, or anything that glorifies harm.
• Harassment, hate, or targeting a person or group for who they are.
• Encouraging self-harm, disordered eating, or dangerous behaviour.
• Promising income or results. You can say what you did. You cannot tell members what they will earn, and you cannot present a result as typical when it isn’t.
• Medical or financial claims stated as fact. Share your experience; don’t diagnose, prescribe, or advise on money as though you were qualified to.
• Scams, misleading offers, hidden costs, or false urgency.
• Anything illegal, or anything instructing someone else how to do something illegal.

Reporting a video

Every video has a Report option. You’ll be asked what’s wrong with it, including whether it’s a copyright problem, and you can add a sentence.

Reports come to FITC’s admins, and we look at them in order of seriousness. We may remove the video, ask the member to change it, or leave it as it is. We don’t write back about every report.

If you believe a video infringes your copyright, report it and say so — we will act on it.

If a rule is broken

A video that involves a child unsafely, is illegal, or infringes someone’s copyright can be removed immediately, without warning. For a minor breach we’ll usually warn you first and give you the chance to fix it. For repeated or serious breaches we may close your channel.

If we remove something of yours, we’ll tell you which rule and why. If we got it wrong, reply and say so.
